Treating acne scars is easier than ever thanks to the Cynosure 1540 laser. This laser uses fractional resurfacing technology to penetrate deeply without damaging the top layer of the skin. During the treatment, the laser delivers light to the skin through an array of high precision microbeams. This creates narrow and deep columns of skin coagulation surrounded by healthy, untreated skin. Over time, the skin will begin to repair itself by replacing damaged skin with younger and healthier skin. Over a period of weeks to months, contours are smoothed and visible signs of acne scarring are improved.
In addition to acne scarring, this non-ablative laser can treat a variety of conditions, including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Surgical scars
- Brown Spots
- Uneven skin tone and texture
Fractional resurfacing with the 1540 is much less invasive compared to ablative laser procedures. Patients will experience redness and swelling for a few days following treatment. Since the treatments are more gentle and require less downtime, patients will typically require several sessions to achieve ideal results. Our office generally recommends at least four sessions performed two to four weeks apart.
