Otoplasty (ear pinning) is an external ear surgery used to reduce ear prominence or improve the shape and position of the ears.
Otoplasty can performed to correct overly large ears (macrotia), to repair dis-satisfactory results from a previous ear surgery or to adjust protruding ears on one or both sides of the face.
During this procedure, cartilage is reshaped and secured to the head resulting in a more natural contour and less noticeable appearance.
Incisions are made behind the ear, leaving a small scar that is not visible. The procedure is performed in our onsite surgery center under general anesthesia.
Recovery time is typically 1-3 weeks.
