A thigh lift is performed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper legs.
Candidates for this procedure have loose, inelastic skin after extreme weight loss from bariatric surgery or diet and exercise. The procedure is often combined with abdominoplasty, breast lift, facelift or arm lift to restore natural body proportions.
For correction of the inner thigh, an incision is made along the line where the leg meets the groin. To address the outer thigh and buttock, an incision extends from the groin around to the back of the body.
In both techniques, excess skin and fat is removed and the remaining skin is tightened. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia in our on-site outpatient surgery center.
Recovery time is typically 10-14 days.
