HOW LONG IS RECOVERY TIME?
Recovery time is very much based on the number of areas corrected during the procedure. Typically, however, recovery time is 2-3 weeks. After surgery, you may want or need monitoring from a responsible helper at home for the first 3 days to ensure optimal recovery for exceptional results.
WHAT AREAS ARE COMMONLY TREATED WITH A MOMMY MAKEOVER?
Pregnancy and breastfeeding often result in unwanted changes to a woman’s body, such as larger breasts, sagging breasts, enlarged areolas/nipples, a boxy waistline, pockets of fat in the abdomen, stretch marks, and excess skin on the belly that no amount of exercise and dieting seems to fix. The loose muscles and stretched skin improve somewhat over time, but the body never completely returns to the way it was before pregnancy. Treatments can address sagging breasts, loose skin, stretch marks, a protruding belly and stubborn fat bulges in one fell swoop. Essentially, anything a woman needs to feel like her best self again can be included in the procedure.
HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT AFTER GIVING BIRTH FOR A MOMMY MAKEOVER?
Most mommy makeovers combine breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and liposuction in one surgery to return your body to its pre-baby shape. While there is no definite time you need to wait before having a mommy makeover, there are a few things you may want to first consider.
While a mommy makeover will not keep you from having children again, having children after your mommy makeover will obviously alter your results. Therefore, most surgeons recommend that you wait until you have finished having children before undergoing a mommy makeover.
Though liposuction and tummy tuck surgery will likely result in you losing a few pounds or inches, such procedures are not designed to be a weight loss solution or a substitute for diet and exercise. The closer you are to your “goal” weight, the more impressive and noticeable the results of your mommy makeover will be.
When it comes to breast augmentation or breast lift, we recommend our patients to wait until 4 months after they have stopped breastfeeding and producing milk. Once the breast has reached its stable size and shape, you will be ready for your Mommy Makeover.
Finally, like any surgical procedure, the recovery process will continue over the course of a few months. While the initial recovery occurs in the first two weeks, you should try to avoid heavy lifting, including lifting children, for four to six weeks. Essentially, if you still have little ones running around, you should make sure that you have help to assist with your daily activities, so you can heal optimally after your mommy makeover.
HOW MUCH DOES A MOMMY MAKEOVER COST?
Though it depends on what procedures you choose to have for your mommy makeover, if you were to get a tummy tuck and breast augmentation, for example, you can expect to pay around $15,000. This estimate includes all fees, such as anesthesia, facility, and implant fees. If you would like to finance so that you can have the procedure now and pay it off in monthly increments, our patients sometimes choose to use CareCredit or Alphaeon. Many patients have also applied for credit cards with longer terms at 0% interest.
