It was later used to prepare the skin for resurfacing treatments and deeper chemical peels. We offer dermaplaning as an accompaniment to other procedures or as its own skin rejuvenating treatment.
When you come into our facility for your dermaplaning Palo Alto & San Jose specialists will perform a three-step process while you relax in comfort. First, we double cleanse the face with a gel-based cleaner. Then we prep the skin using an AHA/BHA Skin Prep Solution to removes cleanser and makeup residue. The Salicylic and Lactic acids in the prep solution will penetrate to begin the exfoliation process. We then apply dermaplaning oil to support the skin with calming, soothing and firming properties while locking in essential hydration. Finally, we perform our special dermaplaning technique designed to achieve optimal results.
This is a simple, minor procedure that has no major recovery time. You may experience redness in the two or three days right after the procedure. For the first few days after your treatment, you will want to avoid sun exposure as much as possible. If you must be in the sun, apply and reapply SPF 30+ every 2 hours, wear a hat and sunglasses and seek shade. In addition, you should delay exposure to excessive heat, heavy workouts, steam rooms and saunas for 24-48 hours post-treatment. If you want to do facial waxing, you should do it before dermaplaning.
