Dr. Kumar’s path to aesthetic surgery started at Johns Hopkins, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and graduated with top academic honors. He went on to attend Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, then completed a highly competitive plastic surgery residency at the University of Michigan. While there, he served as Administrative Chief Resident and also completed a dedicated research fellowship focused on surgical outcomes and innovation.
For his final stage of education, Dr. Kumar was selected for the Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, one of the top-ranked programs in the country for aesthetic surgery. He spent a full year immersed in high-volume aesthetic procedures under the mentorship of some of the industry’s most respected surgeons.
He’s now board-eligible with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, bringing the full scope of his training to every patient he meets.
Dr. Kumar prioritizes staying current with medical advancements and building trust through honest, thoughtful conversations.
To the first point, he’s published over 70 peer-reviewed research articles and has contributed chapters to leading surgical textbooks covering reconstructive and aesthetic principles. He also regularly presents his work at national plastic surgery gatherings.
