Meal Prep Your Way to A Healthier Life

One of the most common excuses as to why people can’t cook at home & can’t eat as healthily as they’d like is because they “don’t have time.” I hear you! I understand. As a busy mum who has become the queen of multi-tasking with a toddler & a house full of teenagers, believe me, it’s chaos. Particularly now as we are all trying to work from home. 

My question to everyone who says they’re too busy to cook is, “do you have one hour on a Sunday?” That’s it. One hour to chop & roast a bunch of vegetables, boil some rice/quinoa/pasta & put it all in containers. It’s so doable! 

If you plan ahead like this, healthy weekday dinners will be a breeze. The pasta is cooked, you just need to throw some chicken or veggies on top, add your favorite sauce & you’re done! A big salad is easily thrown together in less than 10 minutes. All it takes is one hour on a Sunday afternoon & you will save yourself time, stress, money & avoid the unhealthy takeout!

My Tips:

  • First of all, create your space- pour a gorgeous glass of wine (or beverage of choice), put on your favorite movie or trashy tv show (real housewives etc.) or your favorite music/podcast & prioritize 1 hour to meal prep.  
  • Make sure you have a bunch of mixed sized glass Tupperware containers (avoid plastic!).
  • Cook your favorite grains, vegetables and protein. Chop and put into glass containers, wait until cool and then refrigerate.

You will feel so much healthier for eating a homemade meal & proud of yourself for making the effort!
