WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY PICOSURE® FOCUS TREATMENT?
PicoSure® is easily tolerated after numbing cream has been applied to the skin. Once the skin has been anesthetized and the numbing cream has been removed, the 10-minute treatment begins. During the treatment, patients will describe feeling tiny sparks on their skin. Again, this is very well tolerated. The gentle pressure from the laser will stimulate your cells to diminish pigment, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scarring and skin texture over time.
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY TIME FROM PICOSURE® FOCUS?
After treatment, patients experience mild redness and swelling for about three hours. Because PicoSure® doesn’t burn or damage the surface of the skin, makeup moisturizers and sunscreens may be applied.
Some patients who have sensitive skin may experience a histamine response from treatment. This presents as small, itchy bumps on the skin the day after treatment. The response is temporary lasting 3-5 days and can be relieved by using an over the counter antihistamine.
CAN PICOSURE® TREAT MELASMA?
The PicoSure® is an excellent choice for treating melasma. The best results are achieved when patients follow a strict medical-grade skincare regimen, avoid the sun, and use oral medications prescribed by our doctor.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY SKIN AFTER PICOSURE®?
In the week following treatment, the skin will be slightly more dry. We recommend using gentle cleansers, moisturizer and sunscreen during this time. After one week, it is safe to resume your normal skincare routine.
HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
As with most no-downtime procedures, multiple treatments are required to achieve the best results. With that said, most patients begin to notice improvement within a week of their first session.* As you continue with your sessions, the effects will become more and more dramatic.*
HOW MUCH DOES PICOSURE® FOCUS COST?
The cost of PicoSure® Focus varies on the size of the treatment area and number of treatments needed to achieve maximal results. Most patients spend anywhere between $3,000 and $4,000. If you would like to consider some easy payment options, we can recommend services like CareCredit or Alphaeon that many of our patients use to spread out their treatment payments over time. Many of our patients will choose to apply for credit cards with longer terms at 0% interest.
