How To Get Rid of Your Double Chin Quickly Without Liposuction or Surgery

What if I told you that I have access to a virtually painless, easy and rapid-results solution for reducing the size of a double chin?* What if I told you that treatment is less costly than surgery and gives you similar, permanent results? Results that leave the skin substantially tighter and the jaw more contoured.* Would you be interested to learn more about this treatment? Meet the rookie all-star injectable on the Illuminate Plastic Surgery Team, Kybella®.

What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is the first and only FDA approved non-surgical treatment for moderate to severe submental fullness, also known as the “double chin”. Kybella® is an injectable medication that is identical to a substance that our bodies produce naturally, called deoxycholic acid. It works specifically to disrupt the cell membranes of fat cells, effectively destroying them, while surrounding tissues are unaffected.*

With over 20 clinical studies supporting its use and thousands of patients noting both physical and emotional improvement after treatment, Kybella is a safe, effective, and well-researched treatment for submental fullness.*

Where Can Kybella® Be Used?

In April 2015, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Kybella® for treatment of submental fullness, which means it can be used for reshaping the chin, jawline and neck.* Submental fullness, or “double chin” is a common cosmetic concern, can be seen in men and women and can be related to age, weight gain and genetics. “Double chin” can result in an older or heavier appearance because of its effect on facial balance and proportion.

How Long Does Kybella® Last?

The active ingredient in Kybella® is meant to destroy fat cells – meaning – the results last forever, barring any changes in diet and lifestyle.* Once the patient receives correction from Kybella, re-treatment is generally not required.

How Many Treatments of Kybella® Will I Need?

Everyone is different. I evaluate each patient’s needs and customize their treatment based on the amount of submental fat each patient has, as well as the patient’s desired chin profile. Sessions are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. Typically, 1-3 treatments are required for to achieve a full correction. Each Kybella® treatment session is typically 15 to 20 minutes. Often, you’ll be able to notice visible contouring after the first treatment.*
