WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) has become a highly popular plastic surgery procedure for those looking for a close-to-natural way of filling the buttock and sculpting it to be rounder and lifted, without the use of implants. Areas of the body with larger fat deposits (typically the thighs, back, abdomen, and waist) are sculpted with liposuction to be harvested so that your own fat is transferred carefully into the glutes to create a smooth, hourglass silhouette. Compared with implants, a BBL feels more natural to the touch and is essentially permanent, too.

HOW IS A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT PERFORMED?

Similar to a fat transfer to the breasts, a fat transfer to the buttocks is a multi-step procedure that relocates undesirable fat to the desirable area(s). Dr. Boudreault removes fat from the problem areas of the body with a power-assisted liposuction (S.A.F.E. technique), separates the fat into a more purified form, and then carefully injects the purified fat into targeted areas using expansion vibration lipofilling (E.V.L.) to enhance, contour, and shape the buttock. This instantly results in a more shapely behind and more narrow midsection.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT PROCEDURE?

The entire three-step process is performed by Dr. Boudreault at our own surgery center under general anesthesia. Generally, Dr. B uses liposuction to collect fat from the back, abdomen, flanks, arms or thighs. The goal is to the areas where fat will be collected leaving an aesthetically pleasing result while making sure to get enough fat to make the desired changes in the buttocks. He often targets the fat in the midsection to create the most narrow waist achievable, in order to increase the final hip-to-waist ratio. The final stage is the fat transferred into the buttock. Dr. Boudreault fills in any hollow areas commonly found in the outer buttock region, to smooth the frame, and then, he injects the fat into the central buttock region to increase the total projection of the profile. Special attention is paid to make the transition from the back to the buttock and the buttock to the thighs as gradual and natural-looking as possible.

HOW LONG IS RECOVERY TIME FROM A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT PROCEDURE?

Recovery from a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure typically takes around two weeks. You may experience some post-operative discomfort, swelling, or bruising, but this should begin to quickly subside after about one week. You’ll be asked to wear a compression garment for up to 24 hours a day for at least the first week to reduce swelling and to retain your newly sculpted shape as you heal. You’ll also want to walk around as much as possible for good blood flow and not sit or sleep directly on the buttocks for at least two weeks. We recommend that you take one month off from any strenuous activity for about one month after the procedure to ensure optimal healing.

WHAT DOES A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT TREAT?

A BBL is used to narrow the waist and resize and reshape the buttock width and projection. Sometimes aging, lack of exercise, genetics, or weight change can all play a role in having flat-looking or deflated buttocks. If you have a BBL to correct a deflated or saggy butt, you’ll instantly have an overall curvy and more natural-looking result, than implants can achieve. The added liposuction performed on other areas of the body is a bonus to this procedure. Both men and women can have a BBL, and age or body type is no restrictive factor. You can also combine this procedure with a breast procedure or other procedures for a full-body makeover.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS FROM A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?

The change is instant after a BBL procedure. Aside from initial post-procedure swelling and bruising, you will immediately see a slimmer waist and bigger butt. After 3-9 months when swelling and bruising completely subsides, you can truly appreciate your behind’s new fullness, shape, and feel. Because the fat cells are extracted and purified, and then injected with precision at different depths, your results will be permanent. Even if you lose weight in the future, you should retain the same overall proportions, as the fat cells will remain intact.

HOW MUCH DOES A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT COST?

The average cost of a BBL can be from $8,000 to $14,000, depending on the amount of fat that is harvested and transferred. This estimate includes anesthesia and facility fees. Although this procedure mainly focuses on creating volume in the butt, it also includes the resculpting of other areas with liposuction contouring, to achieve the most powerfully stunning results of the body. If you would like to finance your Brazilian Butt Lift to spread out the payments over time, we are happy to offer flexible payment plans through CareCredit and Alphaeon, so that you can enjoy your results soon without the immediate financial burden upfront. Many of our patients will choose to apply for credit cards with longer terms at 0% interest, so you can enjoy your results soon without the immediate financial burden upfront.
