Ultherapy®

Treatment Time 60-90 Minutes Patient Downtime None Treatment Series 1 Procedure Type Office

WHAT IS ULTHERAPY®?

If you’re looking to tighten loose skin without going under the knife, Ultherapy® may be the best treatment option for you. This non-invasive treatment uses high-focused ultrasound energy to tighten and lift skin. During the treatment, the skin is gently heated to stimulate the production of collagen. Heat energy from the device is aimed at three different layers: muscle, skin and superficial wrinkles to stimulate collagen and elastic tissue and result in firmer, tighter skin.

HOW DOES ULTHERAPY® WORK?

During the Ultherapy® treatment, ultrasound is used to visualize and precisely target layers of skin that are addressed during surgery. That same ultrasound energy is converted to heat to stimulate collagen production. This new collagen will gently lift and tighten the treated area.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING AN ULTHERAPY PROCEDURE?

Depending on the size of the treatment area, Ultherapy® treatments will take anywhere between 60-90 minutes. During the treatment, your medical practitioner will visualize the ideal treatment depth using ultrasound imaging. Once this depth has been established, heat will be delivered to that precise area. Patients will feel heat deposited below their skin, which can be uncomfortable at times. We recommend that patients apply a topical numbing medication prior to treatment.

HOW LONG IS RECOVERY TIME FROM THE PROCEDURE?

The major benefit of Ultherapy® is that there is no downtime associated with treatment.  Patients leave the office with virtually no sign of having anything done. While it would be unusual to have visible signs of treatment in the days to follow, it is not unusual for patients to express slight discomfort. This is often described as a “raw” or “irritated” sensation that is relieved with Tylenol.

WHAT PROBLEM AREAS CAN ULTHERAPY® TREAT?

The most common treatment areas for Ultherapy® are the face, neck and decollete (chest). Treatments can also be used off-label for skin tightening throughout the body. Common off-label areas include the abdomen, knees, arms and banana roll (area just below the buttocks).

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR ULTHERAPY®?

The best candidates for Ultherapy® are men and women who have mild to moderate skin laxity.  Typically, these individuals are between the ages of 20 and mid 40’s. This is not an ideal treatment for older individuals or those who have moderate to severe skin laxity. This treatment is not a replacement for surgery as patients will never achieve surgical results from this treatment.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Most patients will begin to notice improvements in one month.* Full results from treatment will be seen at four months.*

HOW MUCH DOES ULTHERAPY® COST?

The average cost of Ultherapy® is between $2500 and $5000 depending on the number of areas treated and the time needed to perform the procedure. We recommend financial flexibility organizations such as CareCredit or Alphaeon for convenient plans to pay for your treatments in easy installments. Or, many of our patients also choose to apply for credit cards with longer terms at 0% interest.
